Access Services Technician:

C/W MARS, a 140-member library consortium headquartered in Worcester, MA, is looking for an Access Services Technician to help support the network’s web-based services and provide technical assistance with our digital repository.  Duties include:

  • developing and enhancing scripts to support our Library Applications Services;
  • assisting with the updating and design of our public and staff websites, including our Innovative Interfaces OPAC;
  • assisting with the maintenance and development of our ContentDM digital collections management software;
  • assisting with scanning and data input for our digital service (Digital Treasures);
  • participating in basic helpdesk support to network library staff as a member of an eleven-person Library Applications team;
  • assisting with both online and lab-based training. 

Familiarity with XHTML, CSS, PHP, Perl or other scripting languages and demonstrated experience with Web 2.0 functionality required.  Associate or Bachelor degree and/or relevant certification highly desired.  Library work experience preferred. Starting salary range: $33,000 - $40,000.  Excellent benefits.
